Presented by The Center for the Arts OnTheGo in partnership with the NORTH STAR HISTORIC CONSERVANCY
The Center for the Arts, Nevada County’s premiere performing arts organization, is undergoing a long-anticipated multi-million dollar renovation! While we prepare to unveil exciting updates to our main facility, The Center’s signature programming will continue through The Center OnTheGo series bringing a variety of diverse acts to creative locations throughout the Foothills.
Between 1995-2000 the Squirrel Nut Zippers sold over three million albums. Old world jazz mixed with Klezmer, Blues, Americana and random bits of contemporary music became the band’s signature style. The group has spent the better part of the last two years shaping its chemistry and honing its sound on the road. Beasts Of Burgundy, released on March 23rd is twelve original new songs from the mind of Jimbo Mathus and the Squirrel Nut Zippers. Opening the show is Earles of Newton, a powerhouse Americana band crafting their tight arrangements of infectious original music around early era Harlem, New Orleans, and “Hot” Jazz, along with Texas and Western Swing, creating a sound all it’s own called simply: “Swingin’ Dixie.” www.snzippers.com
