Tour the North Star House
May 8, 2020: IMPORTANT NOTE:
The North Star House is currently closed due to Covid-19 regulations.
We look forward to welcoming you when we re-open.
OPEN HOUSES – OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
We will post our schedule of Open Houses for 2021 here when we are able to safely and legally open the House.
History Docents will be at the house to provide informal tours or answer questions about the North Star House, Julia Morgan, Arthur D. and Mary Hallock Foote, and more.
New in 2021: A self-guided Landscape Tour.
In addition to being a brilliant mining engineer and superintendent of the North Star Mine, Arthur D. Foote was a horticulturalist. He designed an Edwardian landscape surrounding the House. You can see some of his original plantings which are still on the property. Our Heritage Garden honors his design and plant selections.
Construction Days: Tuesday & Thursday mornings – 10am – 12 pm
Stop by while the construction volunteers are working on the House. Take a look at the House and what we’re doing to restore it. Volunteer workers can answer questions.
No formal tours on construction days.
